About
Multiple Measures: Benchmarking quality assessment tasks to facilitate interdisciplinary learning in the creative arts and humanities is an Innovation and Development project funded by the Australian Government Office for Learning and Teaching. The project focused on interdisciplinary (ID) learning and teaching that included the creative arts and humanities. It has investigated ID assessment design in undergraduate and coursework masters units/courses/subjects.
This project aimed to:
- identify objectives and values of interdisciplinary learning;
- contribute to a shared understanding of ID assessment standards;
- support teaching staff to develop, articulate and apply assessment approaches and criteria for ID tasks;
- improve the equitable comparison of ID assessment across HE institutions.
A comprehensive series of workshops has informed the project. This has included events in Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide and Canberra, and participants from every state of Australia. The project and website was launched at Monash University in Melbourne, June 2016.
The tool and the library continue to grow … We are very pleased to include new and interesting examples of ID education involving the creative arts and humanities. The more examples we are able to include, the more useful the tool will be for the wider community of practice. If you have developed an ID unit/course/subject you would like to contribute to the Multiple Measures library, please visit our submit your project page.
This tool will assist you in the development of new and valuable approaches to ID assessment design. We will look forward to hearing about your teaching and experiences!
